John M. Cullen
Mr.
Cullen has held various senior executive positions during his 16-year career in
general management, sales, marketing and operations.
While at
Daisytek International, a world-wide wholesale
distributor of non-paper office supplies based in Dallas, Texas, Cullen
held the posts of Executive Vice President of Daisytek International and
President of Daisytek Incorporated, the holding company for the Daisytek
International’s U.S. based sales and marketing operations. He was responsible
for the complete P&L for the U.S. business and the U.S. subsidiaries. With his
guidance, the company consistently outpaced the industry in terms of growth and
he is credited with creating and building Daisytek’s new fee for service
business, VirtualDemand, Inc.
Cullen was formerly
vice-president of the Sony Electronics Recording Media and Energy Group (RMEG),
headquartered in New Jersey, where he oversaw all sales and operations for the
groups branded business. Products included
the company's consumer video and audiotape, MiniDisc media, batteries, data
media and professional video and audio media. Cullen joined Sony in 1987 as
district sales manager and progressed steadily through the company’s ranks
where he became vice president. Under
his leadership, his team helped the RMEG group achieve the leading U.S. market
share position for overall branded recording media and during his tenure the
group consistently achieved record double-digit sales growth and strong
profitability.
Cullen launched his
career in 1985 with the 3M Company working in sales for the company’s magnetic
media division.
A native of Illinois,
Cullen earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Business Administration
from Loyola University in 1985. He has guest lectured at the University of
South Carolina’s executive MBA program.
He resides in Allen, Texas with his wife and daughter.
